I'm passionate about strong leadership. For me, everything starts and ends with the direction of leadership and a clear strategy. Get that right and you get greater buy-in, more engagement and better results.
Leadership is about how you make people feel in the room. More importantly, it's about what they do when you leave it.
At C-suite level, that means building the team that sits around you, and knowing when to push and when to support. After Covid, a lot of firms were left with a leadership vacuum in the layer just below the C-suite, and many are rebuilding it now. Getting that layer right, and directing it well, is one of the most important things a senior leader does.
These roles are rarely advertised, and the right person usually isn't looking. So the work is a discreet, retained process that starts with understanding the business, the team already in place and where it's trying to get to, well before anyone is approached.
The roles I place
- CEOs and Managing Directors
- Chief Commercial Officers
- Chief Distribution Officers
- Chief Proposition Officers and Chief Product Officers
- Board-level commercial appointments
Who I've worked with
I placed a Chief Commercial Officer for an enterprise investment platform, and a Chief Product Officer for a fintech breaking into the retail advice market.
How I work
Retained, discreet and one brief at a time. A proper look across the whole market rather than the people who happen to be available, and a shortlist of people I've actually spoken to. Usually four, not forty.
If you're making a senior appointment, I'd like to hear about it. Everything stays confidential.
